Course Overview
The CPA designation provides assurance to the public, the government, and the business community that CPA licensees have obtained the education and relevant work experience necessary to perform specialized accounting, auditing, and reporting services within a strict code of professional ethics.
The BEC section requires demonstrating an understanding of general business concepts including the global business environment and individual business strategies. Knowledge is demonstrated through written examples and scenarios. This component tests candidates’ knowledge of financial reporting, tax preparation, auditing, and attestation. Communication skills are of importance in this section.
Prerequisites
To qualify for the CPA Exam as an international candidate, you need to meet educational and other requirements specific to the state or jurisdiction in which you intend to be licensed to practice.
Most states require that you have a bachelor’s degree before you sit for the exam. However, some states require that you have 150 hours of coursework (the equivalent of a Master’s degree) before you qualify to sit.

The 4 exam sections take on a wide range of topics within these areas. The exam sections also include 3 different question types: multiple-choice (MCQs), task-based simulations (TBSs), and written communications (WCs). The exam presents dozens of these questions in a total of 5 testlets, all of which you must complete in 4 hours.
